Hey y’all! Hope you’re having a great week! After a couple of straight weeks of travel we’ve felt very productive this week. And tonight we’re heading to a wine tasting class given by our brother (who is a sommelier) so we’re looking forward to that!
As the temperatures in New York are soaring right now, if you’re looking for a fun, indoor, weekend activity that involves eating lots of food, you should definitely head to Chelsea Market. We mentioned Chelsea market here, but thought we would share a little more detail on why it’s one of our favorite places in the city.
Chelsea Market is a block long and a block wide and is located adjacent to another favorite of ours, The Highline. It is one of the greatest indoor food halls of the world, with more than thirty-five vendors selling everything from soup to nuts, wine to coffee, and books to flowers.
For foodies and even casual tourists, it is possible to enter Chelsea Market at one end in the morning and not exit the other until after lunch, without ever growing bored (and certainly without ever going hungry).
Our go to places to eat at Chelsea Market are The Green Table for a delicious farm to table meal or Lucy’s Whey for a quick grilled cheese sandwich.
If you just want a quick snack, we love the mini doughnuts at Doughnuttery, a brownie from Fat Witch Bakery, or some nuts or dried fruit from The Nutbox.
Chelsea Market is more than just food. One of our favorite Anthropologies in the city is located there. They also have artist space for rotating pop up shops, sample sales, and flea markets.
Chelsea Market Baskets is a great place to head to pick up hostess gifts or food related souvenirs. Posman Books has a great selection of New York based books and cookbooks.
Have you been to Chelsea Market lately? What are your go to spots? We tend to stick with our favorites and need to branch out.
