Unless you have been living under a rock, you know that liquid lipsticks are all of the rage right now in the beauty world. Between the Kylie Lip Kit and Kat Von D’s new lipsticks you could spend a pretty penny on just one. After trying and failing to get some Kylie Lip Kit’s, I discovered Colourpop Cosmetics. For only $6 you get the same quality of product for a fraction of the price. There are definitely some pros and cons, but you get that with any product.
If you don’t know, liquid matte lipsticks work like a lip stain. They are long lasting and are usually smooch and food proof. The only problem is that they can be quite drying. As long as you moisturize and prime before you put them on you should be good to go. Colourpop has two different liquid lipsticks: Ultra Matte Lip & Ultra Satin Lip. I have them both, and to me they are both matte but the satin version is less drying than the matte version. Before I tried these I was never a lip liner person. I just didn’t see the point of it. When applying liquid lipsticks a liner helps the application process tremendously.
I have 8 shades, 2 of which are the ultra satin lip. I tried to choose some colors that I could wear on an everyday basis. In the tubes they look pretty similar to each other, but the shades are quite different. My three favorites are Trap, London Fog, and Magic Wand.
I’ve tried them all on for you so that you can see what they look like on. Keep in mind that I have very fair skin, and I chose these shades for my skintone.
I definitely want to order more of the Ultra Satin Lips as well as the corresponding lippie pencils for all of my shades. The Lippie Pencils are $5.
I can’t wait to order more shades. I have a feeling I will be using these for a long time. Have any of you ever tried Colourpop!? What are your favorite colors? Let us know in the comments below.
