The thing I’ve been looking forward to most in 2016 is the Gilmore Girls revival on Netflix. It was my favorite show to watch while it was originally airing, and I was so sad when it ended. The news last year of the revival was the best news! After impatiently waiting for over a year, Shelby and I spent the Friday after Thanksgiving avoiding spoilers on the internet, still waiting. We were at our grandparent’s house celebrating Thanksgiving with family, and they don’t have internet. So we planned for Saturday to be the day. We woke up as excited as a little kid on Christmas morning (maybe more), and snuggled up in our parent’s media room with lots of snacks to sustain us for an all day binge watching session.
The number one rule for binge watching Gilmore Girls is to eat like a Gilmore Girl.
You must start your morning (or afternoon/evening) of binge watching with a poptart appetizer. This is mandatory.
Lots and lots of coffee is another requirement. Bonus points if you’re able to score some candy cane coffee from the secret stash at Westin’s Bakery.
For your mid-morning or mid-afternoon snack munch on some red vines with another cup of coffee.
For lunch or dinner (or perhaps both) head to Luke’s diner for cheeseburgers and french fries. If you don’t happen to live in Stars Hollow, In-N-Out is a good substitute.
And for dessert, cupcakes from Westin’s Bakery and pints of ice cream from Doose’s Market.
And that’s how you can successfully eat like a Gilmore Girl.
We loved the Gilmore Girls revival! It was just like the show we all fell in love with, just a little bit bigger and a little bit better.
