Natural Beauty | Drug Store Finds

alba botanica natural beauty products

I was roaming around the drugstore the other day, halfway looking for a new moisturizer and halfway hiding from the rain outside, when I stumbled upon a natural beauty brand I’d never heard of before- Alba Botanica. The pore purifying mini peel powered by 6% Alpha Hydroxy Acids caught my eye. I’ve been on a perpetual hunt for a good face mask type product that is more advanced than the peel off cucumber masks of my childhood sleepover days, but not so expensive that I feel guilty indulging, and I think I found the answer. As I’ve gotten older I’ve tried to use more natural beauty products as the idea of putting tons of chemicals on my face is very unappealing. I also have really sensitive skin, so the fact that the products in this line are oil free and without parabens, phthalates or synthetic fragrance and contains 100% vegetarian ingredients had me intrigued. I quickly snatched it up and couldn’t wait to get home and try it right away.

The first thing that struck me when applying the product to my face is the yummy fruity scent. It seriously smells so good! The product itself is a clear gel that goes on very easily. Per the package instructions I applied a generous layer all over my face and left it on for about 5 minutes. The product makes your face tingle a little (in a good way) and had a cooling effect. After five minutes I rinsed the product off my face and I could immediately tell a difference. My face felt very clean and tight and my skin seemed brighter.

Since I liked the mini peel so much, I went back and purchased the toxin release scrub. The fruit acid detox fusion in this gentle scrub partners with lathering cleansers and ground walnut to scrub away dullness, force out impurities and provide deep down detoxification. It’s meant for your face, but I like to use it on my body as well. It has the same yummy fruit scent as the mini peel and leaves my skin with a healthy glow.

This products have definitely found a permanent place in my skincare rotation. And at under $10 they are budget friendly as well! What are your favorite natural beauty products? Leave your favs in the comments below.
