This past weekend we discovered our new favorite brunch place in NYC. What’s great is that their lunch and dinner menu is just as spectacular as the brunch. The Milton is only a few blocks away from our apartment here on the Upper East Side. We have passed by so many times, and every time Ashley and I say that we need to go in. Well, last weekend we finally did, and let me tell you I am so glad we did.
We popped in for brunch, and were greeted with a rustic ambiance with British/Irish influence. I mean those three things alone will draw me in to any restaurant. We got our coffee and mimosa’s and settled in to the menu.
I ordered the almond pancakes. They came with a pot of nutella and syrup to spread all over, and I did just that. I make pretty tasty pancakes myself, and my family and friends request them often. These little stacks of goodness make the top of my pancake list.
Ashley ordered the scrambled eggs with bacon and toast. Now, something you may not know about Ashley is that she is very picky about her eggs. She won’t even allow me to cook her eggs. I overcooked them once and lost my egg privileges. During brunch Ashley took one bite of these and proclaimed, “These are the best scrambled eggs I have ever had!”. So there you have it, the best eggs in NYC are on the upper east side.
Allix ordered the Milton salad with grilled chicken. Al pal is quite the salad connoisseur and she absolutely loved this one. She said it was so filling that she didn’t even finish it in the restaurant. Allix has never not cleared her plate, so this is saying something.
In addition to brunch, I decided to order some dinner from Seamless so I could get the full experience. My meal arrived in the expected time and was still warm. I ordered the butternut squash and goat cheese flat bread that was absolutely divine. Their menu also includes truffle chicken nuggets that I couldn’t pass up. I mean truffle chicken nuggets come on.
But, my favorite part of the meal was this mac and cheese. Honestly, the greatest mac and cheese I have ever had and I have had a lot of mac and cheese. I don’t even know what made it different but you need it in your life right now.
Next time you are in NYC or on the upper east side head on over to The Milton NYC, your taste buds will thank you.
