This weekend we ate. A lot. Lucky for you, we vlogged our whole weekend so can follow along on our weekend adventures. On Saturday we headed to Brooklyn for our first trip to Smorgasburg of the season.
We’ve been to Smorgasburg many times before, but each year they introduce new food vendors, so we were excited to sample some of the newbies.
We tried stuffed sopaipillas from Zia Green Chili Company which were very yummy.
Then for dessert we were very excited to try Wowfulls. A waffle with ice cream? Pretty hard to beat.
Shelby got a blueberry lemon soda from Brooklyn Soda Works and then we grabbed a couple of treats to go. I got my favorite lemon poppy seed doughnut from Dough and Shelby grabbed a bag of popcorn from Pipcorn. There were a bunch more places we want to try, so basically we’ll have to go back every weekend throughout the summer to hit them all. Poor us.
On Sunday we went to the Natural History Museum. We’ve been several times before, but we’d never been to the planetarium. Visiting it was on Shelby’s 52 things before leaving New York list, so we got to cross that off.
They had a butterfly exhibition going on that was so cool! A butterfly landed on my scarf and stayed there for a good five minutes. We’re basically BFF’s now.
The dinosaur exhibit was kind of terrifying, so we walked through quickly. All I learned is that apparently pigeons evolved from dinosaurs.
We visited a few more of the exhibits (see more of what we did in our video at the end of this post) and then since it was such a pretty day we grabbed a coffee and made our way over to Riverside Park.
For more of our weekend fun, be sure to watch our video below. We have so much fun putting these videos together. Do you guys like to watch? Want to see more? Let us know!
