NYC Neighborhood Guide | East Village

Hey Y’all! Welcome back to another neighborhood guide. Today we are taking you downtown to the East Village. This bustling neighborhood is full of culture, food, and plenty of things to do. The East Village goes from 14th street to Houston, and from Bowery to the FDR Highway. If you do some exploring on your own, you are bound to run into some eager NYU students. You can also take a stroll down St. Mark’s to get a real feel of this neighborhood. What I like about it is that it hasn’t changed. While Manhattan as a whole has had a revamp over the past few years, the East Village has stayed true to it’s roots and character.

There are some great places to eat in the East Village. Grab a bagel from Tompkins Square bagels, with the birthday cake cream cheese of course, or have a healthy meal at Westville. S’mac is a great spot for some Mac & Cheese, and then stop by the Big Gay Ice Cream Shop for some dessert. You can also grab a very traditional Ukranian meal at Veselka. You also can’t miss the secret bar inside of Criff’s! Head on in and through the phone booth for one of NYC’s famous hidden bars.
