Because Happiness Is A Choice
Hey y’all! Happy Monday and Happy December! I can’t believe that 2017 is almost over. To be honest I’m actually very excited and ready for a fresh start in 2018. This year has been crazy and challenging for so many reasons, but we still have an infinite amount of reasons to smile. This is one of my favorite times of the year, and I have decided that I am going to live every day and fully embrace the holiday season. I hope you guys will as well. We would also love for you to share what makes you happy this time of year, and any holiday traditions you and your family have.

Everything is so festive this time of year so it’s nice to go and grab a hot chocolate or other warm beverage and take a walk. Vendors are selling Christmas Trees on the street, which smell amazing, and all of the stores put up their holiday decorations! Is there anything better than that? Everyone just seems to be in a happy and joyful mood. I love seeing everyone embracing the season.

Since we moved a few years ago it was a fun challenge to try and figure out where everything would go in our new place. We don’t have room for a big tree, but we were able to put a little tree on our bar cart of all places. Everytime I walk past it I have a smile on my face. Oh, did I mention that we also put one in our bathroom too!? hahahaha I know that’s weird but it is so quirky and makes me happy!
[one_half padding=”0 3px 0 0px”][/one_half][one_half_last padding=”0 0px 0 3px”][/one_half_last]I am so thankful that we live in NYC and can fully experience Christmas in New York City! There is SO much to do here this time of year, and we fully take advantage of that every year. Our favorite thing is to visit all of the Christmas markets, but even just walking down the streets and seeing the lights and store windows, especially on 5th avenue, is just as magical. If you have never experienced the holidays in the city you need to add it to your list.
One of the biggest things that makes me smile this time of year is spending time at home with family. Life is short, so you really need to cherish those times that you have with them. We spend all of the holidays with our extended family, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s nice to go home and visit and relax at the end of the year. I already can’t wait to be home for Christmas!
I hope y’all enjoyed this post! I love sharing the things that have been making me smile! Please share what has been making you smile so we can spread the joy! Also, don’t forget to check out all of our holiday gift guides so far this year!
