The Perfect Girls Weekend
Hey y’all! Happy Wednesday! If you follow us on Instagram and YouTube ( you should ), you would know that we spent the weekend in Charleston, South Carolina. I had been there once before briefly, but this was Ashley and our mom’s first time. We wanted a nice relaxing girls weekend, and that’s exactly what we had. We didn’t plan it too full, but we planned enough so that we could really experience the city for what it is.

So, we decided that we would dedicate a whole other blog post just for the food and snacks that we ate. Look out for that next week. In the meantime we are so excited to share everything we got up to in the city. We had almost three full days to explore. We took the earliest flight out of New York, and landed before most people were awake in Charleston. We spend the whole morning and afternoon exploring King Street and the South Battery area. Let me tell you, we definitely hit our “move” and “step” goals that day.

It has been rated the #1 hotel in Charleston, and it lives up to that. Their customer service was outstanding. The Vendue is also an art hotel, which basically means the entire hotel is a gallery. We attended a wine and art reception that they hold every day. We also took advantage of their rooftop bar and had dinner there one night.

We had intentions of going to Boonehall Plantation, but they were holding an Oyster Festival that day so the house and regular tours were closed. We ended up spending most of the day eating. I will expand on these more in a later post, but we had some incredible ice cream, and my favorite dinner of the whole trip. I might go as far to say that I had my favorite pasta ever! I’ve been to Italy, so that’s saying something!
[one_half padding=”0 3px 0 0px”][/one_half][one_half_last padding=”0 0px 0 3px”][/one_half_last]We woke up bright and early on our last day to walk around the French Quarter and take as many pictures as we could. After our yummy southern brunch we headed out to Magnolia Plantation as our final stop before the airport. It was fun to see, and we loved playing with some of the animals. Unfortunately though we didn’t think the house and grounds were that amazing. Granted we have been to so many castles and estates around the world that are so grand, we just weren’t that impressed. It was fun to experience it all together though.

It was relaxing and refreshing! Some of our trips coming up are going to be pretty packed full, so this was a great little getaway! What’s your favorite thing about Charleston!? We would love to know! Also, let us know where your next vacation is! We love hearing about everyone’s travels!
