Make Sure To Travel Hungry
Food is a huge part of Charleston’s culture and appeal. Like we mentioned in our travel diary, today’s post is all about where to eat on your trip to Charleston. Full disclosure, Ashley and I don’t eat fish. If you came here looking for that sorry to disappoint you. We did eat at some incredible places though!
Straight off the plane we headed to King Street to eat at Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit. If you know me at all, you know I love myself some biscuits. We all went for the breakfast sandwiches and they were divine. It was the perfect way to start our trip and to really get us into the southern cuisine. The restaurant is very tiny with minimal seating. You order at the counter and wait for your food. It’s easy to take away though, and there was a park not to far away that you can eat at.

Our first days snack was a coffee break. We stopped at Revelator Coffee which was a great little pick me up!
For dinner our first night we went up to the rooftop bar at our hotel. Make sure you watch our travel vlog to see all of the craziness that happened up there. The food was great, especially for bar food. We ordered a flatbread, the pulled pork nachos, and a quesadilla. If you want a really relaxed and casual dinner with some great drinks definitely head up to the rooftop at The Vendue!

Mom couldn’t stop talking about this meal the whole rest of the trip. It was for sure her favorite part! You have to start with the lavender latte! It was INSANE and the best lavender latte’s we have ever had. Ash ordered the brown rice bowl, and loved the almond butter that made it stand out. Mom ordered three of the mezze plates and loved everything, but especially the bacon wrapped dates.
Day two’s snacks were my favorite! We were first stopped off at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about them since then. Our favorite flavors were the almond butter brittle and the sweet corn flavor! Seriously, some of the best ice cream ever! Then we headed over to Black Tap Coffee, and had brown sugar lattes! If you have caught on yet we need multiple cups of coffee a day!
Dinner that night was by far my favorite place that we ate. I will also go down to say that I had the best pasta I have ever had in my life. We went to The Obstinate Daughter out on Sullivan’s Island. The drive was so worth it. We ordered some wine and enjoyed the atmosphere. The brussel sprout appetizer was one of Ashley’s favorite things she has ever had in her life. Mom ordered the swordfish and I had the Agnolotti which was stuffed with sweet potatoes in a chili sauce. I mean seriously so divine!

We ate at so many amazing places! We hope that this helps you when you are planning your trip to Charleston! Happy Eating!
