Hey Y’all! Happy Friday! On Wednesday Ashley told you guys all about our trip to Copenhagen! It was such a fun little city, and we can’t wait to go back some day. Especially when Tivoli Gardens is open! Today I wanted to let you in on all of the places we ate at on our trip. I’m going to be honest, this was one of the hardest things about planning this trip. Ashley is vegetarian, our mom and I are flexitarian, and I don’t eat a ton of vegetables. Trying to find a restaurant that caters to all of those things was pretty hard.

In doing all of my research I found out that Copenhagen is actually very known for their really good food. They have so many michelin star restaurants, including Noma. The problem that we found with that is it is mostly meat options, and most of the restaurants are three-five course meals. For normal people this is not an issue, but one of the things that makes my anxiety skyrocket is pre fixe course meals. I’m not sure why, but I hate not having options, and being stuck in an order that I may not actually like. It’s just one of my many weird quirks, but I knew I had to stay away from those places. Two tips for eating in Copenhagen: Make a reservation at every restaurant, and the Danes eat early, so plan accordingly.

Every morning we had breakfast at our hotel, Hotel Kong Arthur. One of our favorite things about our trip to Norway was the scandinavian breakfast buffet, so we were really excited to continue that tradition in Denmark. We filled up with bread, cheese, yogurt, muesli, and of course some dark chocolate because what is a day without chocolate right!?

Our first night we headed over to Food Club, which is a buffet restaurant. You pay for the amount of time that you spend there and everything, including alcohol, is within that price. We didn’t make a reservation, and they were able to squeeze us in at a table right by the front door. This is not recommended. They said they had 300 reservations for that night alone, so just be prepared and make a reservation. The food was actually really good. I would call this a healthy buffet, because it was definitely nothing like Golden Corral! The food was really fresh, and had tons of vegetarian options for us. The place was also filled with locals which is always a great sign!

The second night we headed over to Gran Torino for a little italian feast. We all shared some wine and had a toast for mom’s birthday. Ashley ordered the vegetarian lasagna which she really enjoyed, and mom and I ordered the Roger Nelson which was a white pizza with potatoes, rosemary, and goat cheese! We were in heaven! Then of course for dessert we ordered a tiramisu to share. Fun fact about me, tiramisu is one of my all time favorite desserts!

On our last night we opted for something a little more casual. I found a burger place called Halifax, and was so intrigued by the menu that I knew we had to eat there. They had three vegan patty options, which were perfect for us. Mom and I ordered the Rosti one which was basically a giant hashbrown, and Ashley ordered the pea patty. Overall it was a really great meal, and we left with happy tummies!

We couldn’t leave Copenhagen without trying Smorrebørd, so at the airport we sat down at Aaman’s and each ordered two to try. Mom and I had the chicken salad and cheese, and Ashley ordered the potato and cheese. Denmark is very famous for their open faced sandwiches, and after trying them I completely understand why! That was the perfect way to end our trip!

Last but not least, you have to stop and get coffee from The Coffee Collective! We went to Torvehallerne Market, but they have some other locations throughout the city. Trust me, if you are a coffee person just go and enjoy!

Don’t forget to watch our vlog to see our whole trip in action!
