Our Favorite NYC Coffee Shops

If you have been following us for awhile now, especially on Instagram, you know that we take our coffee consumption very seriously. Don’t talk to either of us in the morning before our coffee, and we tend to get a little cranky in the afternoon if we haven’t had another round. The good news for us is that there is somewhere that serves coffee on pretty much every street corner in New York. Not to mention the fact that we have two coffee makers in our tiny apartment. A little excessive? I think not. We like to surround ourselves with places and things that can provide us with coffee at the drop of a hat. Better yet just give us an iv drip of coffee! That will do!

In all seriousness though, we have tried to many places in NYC, and today I wanted to share with you some of our all time favorites! I still have a list full of little coffee shops to try, but here are our tried and true picks!

Hutch & Waldo. We discovered this amazing little gem a couple months ago and it has quickly become our absolutely favorite. It’s local to us on the Upper East Side and makes the best almond milk latte’s I have ever had. They just recently added some food to their menu, order the avocado toast, and they also have a killer turmeric latte. I can’t wait for warm weather so we can sit outside and enjoy the area!

Birch Coffee. I have been going to Birch Coffee for years now! I have always loved them, but they recently opened a cafe near our Whole Foods, so let’s just say I stop in there way more often than I should. I always order an oat milk latte and I am never disappointed! They also have some amazing pastries to grab and eat on the go.

Mellow Yellow. This is another local coffee shop to us, and we really do love it! My go to order is an almond milk latte and an almond croissant. This place is turkish owned which gives it a really amazing flare. They also offer an extensive menu of smoothies and turkish food. Head in if you are in the area, and don’t forget to snap a pic on the yellow wall for Instagram!

Bluestone Lane. We have gone on and on about Bluestone Lane for years! Ashley and I were actually just talking about it yesterday and decided we were going to head over there this weekend because it has been a bit! There is nothing I love more than an australian based coffee and cafe restaurant! The latte’s are insane, and the food is just as incredible! They have several locations all over the city, so you are sure to run into one! Trust me, you won’t regret it.

Stumptown Coffee. I’m going to speak for her here, but I believe that Stumptown is Ashley’s absolute favorite coffee in the city! She has always loved it, especially their cold brew. They have their own cafe here in the city, but lots of coffee shops actually brew stumptown coffee. Anytime we pass a coffee shop that does she makes us go in! It doesn’t take a lot of convincing but still!

Irving Farm. Are you catching on to our theme here? We love a good hipster coffee joint, and Irving Farm is just that! They offer a good menu of food as well, but I never leave without a pumpkin seed milk latte and a lavender vanilla donut!

We come from a very long line of coffee drinkers, so you can take our recommendations seriously! Our dad drinks a whole pot of coffee before our mom even wakes up! You will always find our mom with a cup of coffee in her hand, and when I was in high school the Starbucks across the street from school knew my order and had it ready for me every morning. We are just a tad bit obsessed with coffee, but let’s be real coffee is life!

We love trying new coffee shops everywhere we travel, so leave your favorite local ones to where you live below!! We will add them to our list to try! Now I’m off to make a cup of jo! Have a great week!
