My Current Fitness Goals

Let's Talk Fitness

Alright everyone let’s talk about the elephant in the room. The big E word….exercise! With the major influx of people interested in health and wellness, exercise and fitness has become a huge thing in a lot of people’s lives, including mine. Full disclosure, growing up I never went to the gym. My parents were never gym people. It just wasn’t something we did. I was however a very active child and teenager. I started dancing at the age of 2, and by the time I was 10 I was at the studio 5-6 times a week. On top of that I was a cheerleader and played volleyball. As you can imagine I could eat whatever I want and didn’t need to workout in the traditional sense.

Fast forward to freshman year of college, and I learned that the freshman 15 is VERY much a thing! Ever since then I have tried to be a gym person. I really have tried, but it’s super hard for me to get the motivation to go. If I had room in our tiny NYC apartment I would buy my own elliptical and spin bike. Sadly, I don’t think that is going to happen anytime soon. It’s not so much the act of working out that I don’t like, it’s just the atmosphere that is really not fun. I’m also not into gaining tons of muscle and being super buff. I just want to be healthy and feel good about myself.

Recently I have started to think about maybe cancelling my gym membership and looking into other outlets. I’m just so not inspired by the gym anymore, and I really think I could benefit from some other forms of working out. I want to get myself moving everyday, and I would love to just strengthen and lengthen my entire body. It’s not about losing a ton of weight, but I wouldn’t mind if that happened. I know it’s a slow process, and I’m totally okay with that.

Yoga. I’ve always loved yoga. I subscribe to the yoga studio app and it is one of my absolute favorite things. I try to do yoga 2-3 times a week, but I might look into a studio to start going to.

Spin. I have a love hate relationship with spinning. I hate being hot, so soulcycle is a no go from me. Like I said before, if I could have a spin bike at home that would be ideal.

Reformer Pilates. If Allix is reading this she is either screaming with excitement or rolling her eyes. I’m not a fan of cardio…especially running..so I would love to get a full body workout as intense as cardio at a place like SLT.

Full Body Workouts At Home. I absolutely love the PopSugar Fitness YouTube account. They have so many amazing workouts that you can do at home really easily.

I don’t really know what my point of this post was… I guess I just wanted to put my thoughts down, and maybe get some accountability. I also want to hear y’alls thoughts! What kind of workouts do you like doing? I’ll keep you updated on our Insta Stories about what workouts I try out and which ones I like!
