Checking Off The Bucket List
Hey y’all! Happy Friday! I hope you have been having a wonderful start to your September so far. We sure have, and we have been working away really hard on a special project that will be launching very very soon! We can’t wait to tell you about it, but in the meantime I just wanted to share about our fun little 24 hours in Delaware.
We decided to take a little road trip because Delaware was the only state up here that I had never been to before. I only have 9 left to visit now, and Ashley has 7. Since it was Labor Day weekend we didn’t really want to drive down all the way to the beaches so we booked a room at the Hotel Du Pont in Wilmington. We had no other plans other than to order some room service and just enjoy a little staycation vacation. The Hotel was actually really nice, and turns out there was a wedding happening that night with the same last name as ours. If we would have brought some nice dresses we totally would have crashed!

Unfortunately, most of the businesses and restaurants around the hotel were closed. We were not sure if it was because of the weekend or that it was a holiday but regardless we had about 1 place to choose from for a quick lunch after we arrived. It actually ended up being pretty good. We walked around the downtown area a little bit and then headed back to the hotel. It was Harry Potter Weekend on TV, so we obviously watched!

We also found out that this hotel was haunted, and the hallways eerily looked like The Shining! I am actually weirdly obsessed with paranormal and haunted places so this was pretty fun for me. I did hear some freaky stuff during the night which made it even cooler.

The next morning we woke up, ordered room service and had a relaxing morning in our hotel robes! If you know me at all you know I love a good hotel robe! I don’t know what it is, but hey it’s the little things right? Then we headed back to the city making several stops on the way. We like to take advantage of having a car, so we stopped at Container Store, Target, and Trader Joe’s! Basically, all of the essentials!
Overall it was a fun little 24 hours! Sometimes it’s nice to get away and get a fresh new perspective without booking a trip full of things to do! What did you get up to over the weekend?
