Tips On Buying Concert Tickets

Score The Best Tickets To Your Favorite Shows

Tips On Buying Concert Tickets

For as long as I can remember, I have always been the one in charge of buying the concert tickets for my friends and family. I have mastered the art of buying incredible tickets for all of the shows that we want to attend. It’s an unspoken rule now that I’m in charge. Ash and I were actually talking about that the other day, and she suggested that I share all of my tips with you guys! Some of them have been my little secrets, but I am now happy to share them with all of you!

Multiple days, buy last day. If you live in a big city like NYC, LA, Dallas, or Chicago the artist usually does multiple shows. The trick here is to try and get tickets to the last show. Almost everyone will click on the first one and they will sell out immediately. I used this method and scored floor seats for Harry Styles at MSG. I also just used this method for Maggie Rogers at Radio City and we have orchestra seats! Trust me, it works!

Look at seating chart before they go on sale. Familiarize yourself with the layout of the venue before you get tickets. This will help you with any confusion of where your seats are. Side stage left tickets are usually my go to. I know what those section numbers are in NYC venues so I can easily search as soon as I have access to tickets.

Sign up for pre-sales. Most shows will have multiple pre-sales. Sometimes they are linked with certain credit cards, and sometimes you can sign up for an artist presale. These are key to getting the good seats. These sales usually happen 4-5 days before the tickets go on sale to the general public. I almost always get tickets during these pre-sales!

Have multiple devices. Depending on the artist this might be an absolute must. A few years ago when we were trying to buy Adele tickets we had 9 devices open in the virtual waiting room, and we were only able to buy tickets on one before they sold out. You have to be prepared for huge artists like that!

Already be logged in to ticketmaster and have your payment ready to go. Almost always tickets will be sold on Ticketmaster. Be logged into your account and have your payment method in your hand ready to go before you get into the virtual waiting room. Also, never ever close out your browser or even minimize it. Schedule your time to be fully focused on the tickets.

Check venue day of. Didn’t get any tickets to the show, but still really want to go? Try going to the actual venue on the day of. A lot of times they will sell regular tickets, or some obstructed view tickets for even cheaper than they were selling before. They want the venue to be sold out. This is how I got tickets to the One Direction show at Madison Square Garden. I was 4 rows from the side of the stage.
