What We Saw, Ate, & Did

London, Part Two | Travel Diary

We were able to have a surprise extra 36 hours in London at the end of our trip! We quickly booked a hotel in Richmond, because it’s close to Heathrow airport. We were headed to Richmond anyway, so it worked out! We stayed at The Orange Tree Hotel. It’s a small boutique hotel with only 13 rooms, and located above a pub. We honestly loved it so much, and kind of wished that we were there longer! The room was amazing! See a room tour in our vlog!

After checking in we headed into Central London and stopped off at Westminster. We initially were not going to go because Big Ben, Parliament & Westminster Abbey are all covered in scaffolding until 2021! We had the time though, and it’s one of my favorite areas in London so we popped by to say Hello! I’m sentimental about London okay! We could still see The Thames and The London Eye. Unfortunately though it was a bit drizzly all day!

I wanted to take Ashley up to my old neighborhood because she had never been. I lived in London the summer of 2014, and I had a flat in Maida Vale. It was just a block away from “Little Venice” which is the cutest canals with houseboats that can take you all the way to Camden. It was so surreal to be back there. I hadn’t walked on my street since 2014. I was also able to take a picture of my tattoo on my street! It was the final piece of it, so that was pretty cool! We popped into Baker & Spice for a quick coffee because it started raining again.

Then we headed back down to Kensington/Hyde Park, our favorite place in London. We wanted to walk around the park a little bit because we actually didn’t walk over to Kensington Palace and the Gardens when we were there earlier in the week. We could spend our entire time in London just in Hyde Park. Don’t judge us…but we went to Dishoom for dinner again. It’s so unbelievably amazing we couldn’t pass up the opportunity! My mouth still waters thinking about the Okra fries and the black dahl! Dishoom should be at the top of your London list for sure!

After dinner we headed back to Richmond and walked the high street to the river!  Then we grabbed a drink at the pub before heading to bed!

Our last morning we woke up bright and early and headed back into Central to grab breakfast at Granger & Co. It was incredible, and worth the hype! This was actually the last place on my London list! Now I have to start making a new list. We walked through Chelsea down The Kings Road then up to Kensington to take in our last views of London!
