One of my favorite recipes growing up, and still is now, are these Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. This recipe has been in my family since my mom was a little girl. These cookies are also one of my grandpa’s favorite. I like to make them for him when I go to visit. I hope you guys can make some traditions with these cookies as well.
You will need:
1 ½ Cups of Flour
1 ¼ tsp of Baking Soda
1 tsp of Salt
1 Cup of Shortening
¾ Cups of Brown Sugar
¾ Cups of White Sugar
1 tsp of Hot Water
1 pckg. (6 oz.) of semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 Cups of Quick Cooking Oats
1 tsp of Vanilla
Optional Ingredients:
Cappuccino Chips
Coconut
Cinnamon
Start by creaming the shortening, sugars, and eggs together.
Then combine all other ingredients. Easy as that!
Then spoon the dough onto a pan, and bake for 10 minutes on 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Recipe makes about 4 dozen.
Your end result are these very tasty cookies! Leave a comment and let us know if you try these out!
