The Hamptons

Most people like to venture out to the Hamptons for summer holidays or long weekends. Ashley and I are the complete opposite. We like to go out to the Hamptons for the fall. Why you may ask? Because fall is the greatest season of the year, and the Hamptons are even prettier decked with pumpkins, crisp air, and fallen autumn leaves. We jetted off to Hampton Bays for a long weekend with our parents and had one of our favorite vacations ever.

We stayed at the Hampton Maid, which we highly recommend. The grounds were breathtaking, and it was a great location to take little day trips to other parts of the Hamptons. Every night was spent sitting on our porch reading and sipping coffee (or bourbon) in the cool air.

On our first full day we jetted off to Duckwalk Vineyards for a wine tasting. We recommend their Gatsby Red. It’s fantastic. We then walked across the street to a pumpkin patch to get our fall fix. Fun fact, this was my first time in an actual pumpkin patch. It was fantastic and everything I could have ever dreamed. Wow, that’s dramatic….moving on now!

The next stop was the tip of the island in Montauk. It was beautiful and I’m glad I saw it, but there isn’t much to do out there. On our drive back in we stopped at The Lobster Roll solely for my dad. Ashley and I don’t eat fish so we weren’t too fond of this stop. Our Dad loved it though.

We then drove over to Sag Harbor for a beautiful view and coffee. Then, before turning in for the night we headed to South Hampton to do a bit of shopping.

On our way back to the city the following day we stopped at Harbes Family Farm for a fantastic fun fall day (alliteration intended). We picked apples, went on a hayride, grabbed some pumpkins, and enjoyed apple cider donuts. If you have never had apple cider donuts you are not living your life properly. Do yourself a favor and go get one now.
