Hey Y’all! So, this weekend has been super lazy for us. Ashley is still recovering from her broken shoulder, and Allix and I have both been sick with colds. We finally introduced Allix to Friends this weekend so we have been plastered to the couch binge watching. I actually couldn’t have thought of better weekend plans. Since we didn’t really leave the couch this weekend, and therefore have no fabulous adventures to share, I thought I would instead tell you a little bit about some of the Broadway Shows we have seen lately.
Ashley and I have always loved musicals. Our brother did musical theater growing up, and we have tons of musically gifted friends. I have been admiring musicals since I can remember. Living in New York gives us a great opportunity to see musicals all the time.
Les Miserables is such a classic musical, but to me it will never get old. I could go to see it every day if I could afford it. If you are up for seeing a beautiful production that will bring you to tears, then this is the show for you. Don’t worry, the stage version is much better than the movie.
If you truly never want to grow up, Finding Neverland is the perfect show for you. You are transformed into your younger self for a beautiful journey into your imagination. Follow young Peter on his way to Finding Neverland.
If you have the heart for the hero, and love a good story, Matilda the musical is a fun event for the whole family. The cast is full of kids that will steal your heart. I’ve seen the show in London and New York. It it truly an experience that you will love.
Bright Star is a new musical from the one and only Steve Martin & Edie Brickell. It is a telling love story that will have your emotions swinging the entire night. The Appalachian music is very different from your typical musical, but it is a breathe of fresh air to the Broadway scene.
Next up on our list we would love to see Hamilton, Waitress, and The Lion King.
Have any of you seen any musicals lately? What shows are on your must see list? Let us know in the comments below.
