One of our favorite ways to spend a Saturday in New York City is strolling through the Union Square Greenmarket. There is nothing better than fresh local produce, especially during the summer months. In peak season, 140 regional farmers, fishers, and bakers sell their products to a dedicated legion of city dwellers. You can find everything from just-picked fresh fruits and vegetables, to meats and cheeses, artisan breads, jams, pickles, flowers and plants, to wine and ciders. A few weeks ago we popped over to Union Square and picked up a few groceries for the week. We snapped a few photos of our finds we wanted to share with you guys today.
The Union Square Greenmarket is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday year round.
