Happy Wednesday everyone! Ashley and I are still recovering from our California jetlag. For some reason this trip has had us feeling extra drowsy since we have gotten back. We had a whirlwind 5 day trip, but we enjoyed it. We attended BlogHer conference while we were there, but wanted to extend our trip so we could have some time to explore. Ashley had been to LA before, but this was my first time. Overall I enjoyed the time that we had, but I could never live in LA. I am definitely an east coast person.
We started our trip at Universal Studios at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It was fun to compare this to the Warner Brothers Studio Tour in London. We are going to do a whole post on Universal Studios, so look out for that in the next couple of weeks.
We started our tourist adventures with breakfast at Urth Caffe and manicures at Olive & June. We are also going to be telling you all of the places to eat healthy in L.A. on Friday, so make sure you check back.
The afternoon was filled with lots of snacks including, Alfred Coffee, Compartes Chocolate, Pressed Juicery Freeze, and California Donuts! We of course couldn’t resist going to the LACMA to take pictures with the infamous lights.
At night we headed up to the Griffith Observatory to see a birds eye view of Los Angeles. It was gorgeous, but it took almost two hours to get to the top. I’m not sure if it’s like that every night, or if it was just a fluke. Nontheless, the view was beautiful. This might have been my favorite part of the whole trip.
The next two days were filled with conference activities. We were able to hear speakers like Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mayim Bialik, Aisha Tyler, Kim Kardashian West, and Sheryl Crow. We had an awesome time at BlogHer.
Our last day in L.A. was a busy one. We started with brunch at Au Fudge, and then went around the city seeing as many tourist sites as we could.
After exploring the city we headed over to Santa Monica to see the pier and watch the sunset.
Overall we had a fantastic time in Los Angeles. It was a lot of fun even though it was a work trip for us! We can always find a way to have a good time. Have any of y’all ever been to LA!? If so, what is your favorite thing to do? Let us know in the comments below. Make sure to watch our vlog over on YouTube or down below.
