DIY Essential Oil Rollerballs

DIY Essential Oil Rollerballs

I’ve been playing around with essential oils lately. As someone who has suffered from migraines, for most of my life, I’ve found that essential oils can really help alleviate the pain faster and better than most over the counter medications.

Essential oils can have a healing effect to both your mental and physical health. They have been used for thousands of years for medicinal and health purposes, and are a great natural healing alternative. You should not apply essential oils in their concentrated form directly to the skin. Instead, mix them with what is called a carrier oil.

I am by no means an expert, but I’ve discovered a few blends that I really love, and I wanted to share how I make them into individual rollerballs. These are perfect for having around the house or stashed in my purse, whenever I need some calming or energizing vibes.

Here’s what you need:

10 mL roller ball bottles

Essential Oils of your choosing (I used these)

Carrier Oil (I like coconut oil

Labels (optional)

There are two blends I’m loving right now. One I like to use more in the mornings, and one I like to use more at night.

Lavender + Peppermint

20 drops Lavender – 20 drops Peppermint – fill the rest of the bottle with your carrier oil

This one is great for use before bed, for headaches, or whenever you need some stress relief. Roll it onto your wrists, the bottoms of your feet, or your forehead to relive headache pain.

Orange + Peppermint

20 drops Orange – 20 drops Peppermint -fill the rest of the bottle with your carrier oil

This one is great in the mornings. I like to put it on my temples and wrists for a boost of energy.

Lavender is a very versatile essential oil. The scent of lavender can reduce the levels of stress hormones in your blood.

Peppermint oil can purify and stimulate your mind.

Orange oil is a great immunity enhancer, has anti-inflammatory effects, and research has shown it can help prevent wrinkles.

So this is my little essential oil army. I love this rub, this pillow spray, and my new rollerballs.

Do you use essential oils? What are some of your favorites?
