Hey y’all!
We are excited to announce that we are starting a new series today that we are calling The List! The List will be comprised of the things we are loving and/or doing at the moment that we want to share with all of you. Today I have a mix of things I’m watching, listening to, reading, and a few products I’m loving.
If you haven’t watched 13 Reasons Why, you’ve likely heard of it. Despite the negative media attention surrounding it, I really liked it. Obviously, parts of it were hard to watch, but I think it’s very important that the show is sparking conversations around mental health. And they just announced there will be a season two! It’s also a book if you’re interested.
We were a little late to the Big Little Lies game, but we LOVED it. It’s only 7 episodes, so it’s very easy to sit and watch the hole thing on a Saturday. We hadn’t read the book, so the whole murder mystery was a surprise. I started the book after we watched the show, but I haven’t finished it yet. But knowing what I’ve read so far, it looks like the show did make some creative changes.
As someone who loved Serial, when I heard about S-Town I downloaded it and started listening before I even really knew what it was about. By the end of the second episode, I was hooked! If you’ve listened, you know why. I was a little dissatisfied with how it ended, but I love the way the producers of these podcasts are able to tell the stories the do in the way that they do.
I recently discovered Rag’nBone Man when I saw him sing on the Today show earlier this week. I really liked the songs he sang, so I immediately downloaded his album on Apple Music. I haven’t had a chance to listen to the whole thing through yet, but I’m excited to play it this weekend.
The One and Only by Emily Giffin
I brought this book with me to the Bahamas a couple weeks ago to read by the pool. I was immediately pulled in when I realized it was set in Texas in a town very similar to where I grew up. I didn’t love where the storyline ended up going, but it is a fun, light, beach read if you’re looking for that sort of thing.
Kristin Ess Soft Shine Beach Wave Spray
I love everything in Kristen Ess’ haircare line that’s sold exclusively at Target, but this Beach Wave Spray is probably my favorite product I’ve tried from her. I spray a little on my ends after I’ve curled my hair, and then I run my fingers through the ends to create a beachey look.
Shelby got a sample of this product in her Sephora Play box, and I tried it and immediately fell in love and picked up the full size bottle at Sephora. I’ve incorporated this into my morning routine over the past couple of weeks and I really love it. A little goes a long way and I’m already seeing results.
Those are the items on The List! Leave us a comment and let us know what’s on YOUR list right now!
