Last weekend when we were in Las Vegas, we visited the Neon Museum! This was something neither of us had ever done before, and it was very cool to see all of these old signs up close and in person. If you want to visit the Neon Museum, be sure to plan ahead. You can only visit as part of a guided tour, and there are not that many tours offered. Tickets book up pretty fast. You have the choice of the day tour (between the hours of 8AM – 10AM) or the night tour (between the hours of 8PM and 10PM). Tickets for the night tour are more expensive, and seem to sell out quicker, but you get the added ambiance of seeing the restored signs lit up in their original glory.
The Neon Museum is such a fun place to photograph! Our Uber driver said her son wanted to take his prom photos at the museum…how cool would that be?!

The fun part of taking the guided tour is getting to hear all about the history of each sign as our knowledgable tour guide walked us through the museum.
A few tips-
If you do the day tour, keep in mind that this tour is outside. It will be hot. Wear sunscreen. The tour is about an hour long. The tour groups are kept to about 20 people or so. While the tour guide insists the group stays together, the tour is lead at a slow enough pace that you do not feel rushed as you admire the signs and take photos. The path is a loose dirt, and there is broken glass from some of the signs in places. Closed toe shoes (especially for kid’s) are recommended. I wore sandals though, and I was fine.
This tour of the Neon Museum was probably the highlight of our Las Vegas trip. I highly recommend doing this if you haven’t before. To see more of what we got up to in Las Vegas, be sure to read our full travel diary here and watch our travel vlog below!
