Hey y’all! Happy Monday! I am currently still in Dallas, and the number on thing on my mind is tex-mex food! The one downfall of living in New York, is the lack of tex-mex. Lucky for you, we have scoured the city and found the best Mexican and one tex-mex restaurant for your dining pleasure.
Javelina
This is the best and pretty much only tex-mex restaurant in the city. You can read our entire review here, but we love heading downtown to this place for a little taste of home!
Selena Rosa
This is our favorite neighborhood place! They have incredible nachos, quesadillas, and guacamole that you can get spicy! If you find yourself on the Upper East Side this is a must! Oh yeah, and the margaritas are fantastic! Seriously, we have had our fair share of them!
Tortilla Flats
This was Ashley’s favorite place to eat when she lived in NYC for a summer during college. (When she was not a vegetarian she ordered the pork tacos because they were really spicy). This is a little hole in the wall place that won’t disappoint. It’s small but mighty!
Rosa Mexicana
This is a higher scale chain Mexican restaurant, but don’t let that take away from it. It’s really great and a fun experience for all.
El Original
If you find yourself in Hell’s Kitchen, this place is perfect. They serve queso, and take up a whole city block. Add a margarita and some guacamole and we are happy.
