What We Did, Saw, and Ate
After we played around in Brussels, we hopped on the train to Antwerp. This ended up being our favorite city of the trip. For some reason it just felt like home, and reminded us a lot of London. Antwerp is also a really good foodie city. There were so many places we found before that definitely didn’t disappoint! Ash and I said we would love to go back for like two weeks, rent an airbnb, and live like a local in Antwerp for a bit.
Right away the train station was breathtaking! We arrived at night so we checked into our hotel grabbed a quick bite to eat (Ashley forgot to bring the camera) then headed straight to bed so we could rest up for a full day in Antwerp! We stayed at the Lindner Hotel right by the train station. It was amazing and we highly recommend it, but be advised it is about a 20 minute walk to the city center. Per the photo above, don’t forget to stay hydrating when traveling! 😉

Kristen and I are obsessed with acai bowls, so they second we found this place on Instagram we knew we had to eat there. It truly was awesome and the owner was so sweet! We only had bowls, but their avocado toast looked incredible!!

We walked around to the city center and then went into their big cathedral, The Cathedral of Our Lady! We were so blown away by this city, so I’m just going to let the pictures speak for themselves.

We stopped at Coffeelabs for an afternoon pick me up, and picked up some sweet treats at Hoeked Doughnuts! Basically we ate everything there was in Antwerp and I’m not mad about it! P.S. This is what it looks like when you are trying to pose for a picture but then you spill your coffee all over your pants!

After all of the snacks we went to visit Rubens Huis! I had to take art history in college so I knew all about him and his work. This was really cool though because it was in the house that he actually lived in! After getting our culture in we were ready for dinner already! Frankly we were just tired and wanted to sit, but still! We ate at Greenway for dinner and it was excellent! Give us a vegetarian restaurant and we are sold!

Send three Texas girls to Antwerp, and you know we have to eat here! We had seen Texas shaped waffles on their Instagram, but sadly ours didn’t come in the shape of Texas! Our food was excellent though!
[one_half padding=”0 3px 0 0px”][/one_half][one_half_last padding=”0 0px 0 3px”][/one_half_last]Antwerp was such an amazing little city, and we already can’t wait to go back! Get ready for Brugge next! It is definitely a must when visiting Belgium!
