Make The Most Of Your Suitcase Space
Your beauty routine when traveling can be a bit tricky. You can’t take your entire bathroom with you on your trip, and you don’t always know what you may need to have on hand. Over the past several years I’ve really perfected my beauty routine while traveling, so today I thought I’d share some of my tried and true beauty tips and tricks for travelers.
- Apply a heavier moisturizer than you normally would the night before you travel. I like this one. This increases your skin’s hydration before the effects of travel dehydrate it.
- Bringing a mist like this one in your carry on allows you to spritz your face when you need a pick me up after that red eye flight. I’ve also been known to use this on my hair to revive my curls and create a little texture.
- Make up removing towelettes like this are great to travel with. Obviously they remove your make up, but in a pinch they could also serve as a cleansing wipe for your hands or to wipe down your tray table on the plane. Plus they don’t count against your carry on liquid allowance on a plane.
- I generally paint my nails a nude shade just prior to traveling. This strategic move helps any chips that may occur to be way less noticeable than if I had chosen a bright shade. This one is my go to shade, plus bonus- it’s a gel polish!
- I never travel without a mini dry shampoo. When you’re jumping time zones, the easiest way to look freshly showered is to perk up your hair and add volume with some dry shampoo. Plus who wants to spend time blowing out your hair every day when you’re on vacation? Skip the wash and use this instead.
- Honestly I do this even when I’m not traveling (#lazy) but I use my flat iron to get wrinkles out of my clothes. Genius, right? This mini one is great for travel.
- Stock up on travel sizes of either your tried and true favorite products or use the opportunity to sample something new to you. I highly recommend this set of minis from one of my favorite skincare brands.
- Bring makeup products that are multi-use to save space. I like to use this product on both my lips and cheeks and this one makes a good highlighter/eye shadow duo.
