Now that we are finally into those beautiful summer days I have been craving a sweet and healthy treat to keep me hydrated. I love popsicles, but most of the ones you buy from the store are filled with sugar and artificial ingredients. So then I found myself thinking, how hard could it be to make popsicles? Turns out, not so hard! They are actually so simple. I perused Pinterest for some inspiration and came up with what I think is the perfect summer popsicle.
I started with ingredients that I know and love. Blackberries, limes, and mint!
You will need:
1 10 ounce package of frozen blackberries (or fresh if you prefer)
6 limes (the juice)
1 handful of mint (varies depending on taste)
1 cup water
Some added sugar if you want it sweeter rather than tart
All you need to do is throw everything in a blender and then pore into your popsicle molds, and let freeze for at least 3 hours. It is that simple. Let me tell you, they taste fantastic. We are also thinking about trying some watermelon mint popsicles, because Ashley has a watermelon obsession and bought way too much that our fridge is now full. Yes, Ash I have to tell the world your obsession. I think we can all band together and have an intervention.
Have you tried making any popsicles? Let us know some flavors we should try in the comments below.
