Everything We Saw, Ate, and Did
Next stop on our trip across the pond was Cambridge. Like Ashley told you in the first part of our London trip, one of our best friends Kristen currently lives in Cambridge with her family. She invited us to come spend a few days with her so she could show us around. Ash and I have both previously been to Cambridge, but it had been years so we were excited to see all of the new things that have popped up.

I’m still not exactly sure what it was, but it was definitely magic 😉 See what I did there? Their pastries are top notch as well. I’m kind of an almond croissant snob, but theirs is for sure at the top of my list now. P.S. We loved their coffee so much we went back a couple days later for seconds!

Kristen suggested St. John’s College, and I’m so glad she did. It was absolutely beautiful! I couldn’t help but wonder what it would have been like to go to school there. We sat down on a bench and just chatted away to each other catching up. We had such beautiful weather that we loved just sitting and relaxing. Before we picked Carter up from school we grabbed a quick lunch at Franco Manca. Y’all know how much I love pizza, and I was highly impressed.

We both could have sat there for hours! It was absolutely beautiful, and filled with people. It was definitely a big spot that the locals hang out in. Then we popped over to the Cambridge Distillery for a quick G&T! Ashley and I never thought that we liked Gin. I think we just had some really bad ones but this trip has turned us into gin drinkers! They had some really cool variations, like truffle and Ant gin. Yes you read that right..ants!

We went into town and had brunch at Fitzbillies! They are known for their chelsea buns, so of course Ash and I got one to split. It totally lives up to the hype. After that we did a little shopping, and then grabbed Bould Brothers again to go! The rest of the day we spent at home playing with Carter, and then of course had to hit up Nando’s for dinner! It’s still one of my favorites!

It’s a national trust site, and was just beyond beautiful. We had so much fun running around with Carter and seeing all of the plants and the Abbey. It’s so cool to witness all of these things from a 3 year olds eyes.
[one_half padding=”0 3px 0 0px”][/one_half][one_half_last padding=”0 0px 0 3px”][/one_half_last]Later that afternoon we went back to the Orchard Tea Garden for more scones obvs. Are you seeing a theme here? We like food, especially scones okay!
The next day we had one last snuggle with Carter, and then we were off for a quick 36 hours in London!
