The Ones We Love And What They Do
Face masks are an almost daily obsession at As Told By headquarters. There are so many good ones, and we’re constantly trying out new ones. Did you guys catch our recent vlog with the face mask wall we stumbled upon at CVS?! We may have a boarder line problem. The good news is that you get to benefit from our face mask trials and errors because today I want to share five of my current favorite face masks. They are all very different and target different areas of your skin. For that reason, I alternate between them all, but if I’m having a specific problem with my skin, I’ll go heavy with a face mask that targets that problem for several days.

Targets: Firming
This is a fun one! It’s metallic silver (I’m wearing it in the photos above) and it peels off! I apply a thin layer to my face with a brush, wait for it to dry completely, and then carefully peel it off. It’s one of those rare peel-off masks that actually comes off in one piece. I like this because it’s easy and doesn’t have to be washed off, which is my least favorite thing about face masks. It’s not cheap, but if you use it once a week or so I’d say it would last you about 6 months.
Face Mask: Neutrogena Hydrogel Mask
Targets: Brightening
There are actually a few different types of this mask in the line and each targets something different. I like these because they are similar to a sheet mask. They are single use, but instead of the traditional wet paper towel like consistency of most face masks, this one is a gel. It’s also in two pieces, which isn’t really necessary, but is kind of nice if you need to create a more custom fit (Shelby has a really small face for example, so sheet masks typically fit her a little weird.
Face Mask: Herbivore Instant Glow Mask
Targets: Brightening
Another brightening mask. This one is really great. It’s all natural, which I’m a big fan of, and there is a noticeable difference in my skin tone after use. It also smells really good!
Face Mask: Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels
Targets: Puffiness
You’ve likely heard me talk about these before. I’ve used them for several years and I still love them. I bring them with me on all long haul flights and put them on during the the flight. Anytime I have a late night followed by an early morning you’ll find them on my face. Also, Mondays. Because sometimes the thought of putting these on is the only way to get me out of bed on a Monday. They have a cooling sensation which helps to wake up tired eyes. You can keep them in the fridge to enhance this sensation.
Face Mask: Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask
Targets: Hydrating
If you have dry skin, this mask will be your new best friend. It’s exclusive to Sephora, and it keeps selling out (it’s that good!) but keep your eye on it because they restock frequently. I talked more about why I love it here.
