It’s been such a fun week sharing different rooms in our new space with you! In case you missed it, you can see an empty house tour in this video and you can see our previous room reveals here. Today we are sharing our outdoor space! We spend SO much time out here. Since we were arriving in Denver during the summer months, we decided to prioritize our outdoor space so that we could enjoy the space in the warmer weather before it gets too cold. We knew it was a space we would be spending a lot of our time, so we wanted to create a little backyard oasis. We all love to be outside, especially Poppy, which is one of the large reasons we even moved here in the first place. So setting up a comfy outside space was fun to pull together!
The patio space gets quite a lot of sun. And we actually don’t have any trees on the property. So we decided to add a cover and went with this pop-up tent. It serves a dual purpose- it provides much-needed shade, but it also helps to define the space. Speaking of defining the space, we also added this outdoor rug which really pulled the space together. We knew we wanted to add lights to the tent and we grabbed the outdoor bistro lights from Lowe’s and attached them to the tent with zip ties. Shoutout to our Dad for helping us with that!
We looked at lots and lots of patio furniture sets and landed on this 4 piece set from Wayfair. We liked that there was a comfy space for each of us to enjoy as well as a table. In anticipation of having guests and entertaining in the future, we also purchased a couple of these bistro table sets. We store them in the garage and pull them out when needed to incorporate them into the space.
To decorate the space a little we added this large citronella candle and these gold tea light holders to the table. I found these outdoor lanterns at H&M. These exact ones are sold out, but you can find similar ones at lots of places. I added outdoor battery-powered candles to them. The metal Eiffel Tower in the corner was in my bedroom in NYC but we placed it outside here. I always get questions about it, but I’ve had it for probably 15 years at this point and it was a gift. I have no idea where it was from. We wrapped it in solar-powered twinkle lights and love to watch it sparkle at night, just like the real life Eiffel Tower in Paris!

This plant stand is from Ikea and all the pots and plants are from our local Lowe’s. It’s been a pretty warm summer for Colorado so the flowers have struggled a bit, but the herbs are all thriving and we enjoy using them in cooking and cocktails. We CANNOT WAIT to deck out this space for the fall. It’s going to be a pumpkin explosion!
