Dyker Heights Christmas Lights
The holidays this year are very different. When we were brainstorming Covid safe things we could do this year, our friend Keslie suggested that we head out to Dyker Heights in Brooklyn to see the Christmas lights. The Dyker Heights Christmas Lights are a huge event every year. These houses go all out. Their motto is the more lights and decorations the better. So Ashley, Allix, Keslie, Danielle and I took the 1 hour and 15 min subway ride out to Dyker Heights!

Some houses take over a month just to get everything up every year. It was a very chilly night when we went out, but we had a guide who knew the inside scoop on almost every house! He even brought his own boombox and played Christmas songs for the entire 90 minutes.

Ashley and I have actually been to Dyker Heights before, but it was back in 2012. I don’t remember it that much, and I certainly didn’t remember how giant the houses are out there. I was actually so surprised. Seeing the lights is just a really fun way to socially distance but still participate in the holiday cheer.
