Explore Your Own City This Fall

Because Sometimes The Best Things Are In Your Own Backyard

The Perfect NYC Staycation

For some reason I always get an itch to travel in the fall. It’s easy to feel pressure to go do all of the “fall things” like apple picking, going to a pumpkin patch, or taking a drive to see the beautiful changing of the leaves. And while all of these things are really fun, sometimes it’s nice to change it up and actually experience your own city. Here are some ideas to help you explore your own city this fall. [one_third padding=”0 3px 0 0px”]Explore Your Own City This Fall[/one_third][one_third padding=”0 3px 0 3px”]Explore Your Own City This Fall[/one_third][one_third_last padding=”0 0px 0 3px”]Explore Your Own City This Fall[/one_third_last]

Have a picnic in the park

Just because it isn’t warm outside doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the luxury of having a picnic! Even if that picnic only consists of a coffee and a protein bar while sitting on a park bench. Bring along a book or just watch the leaves fall around you.

Head to your local farmer’s market

If you can’t make it apple picking this fall, head to your local farmer’s market instead. From grabbing those apples to pick out the perfect pumpkin, the farmer’s market can be a more convenient option. I love picking up a bounty of fresh fall produce to incorporate in my fall meals.

Have a staycation

This is something we had never done until this past weekend, but it was so much fun! In our case, we left Manhattan and headed to Brooklyn, so it felt like we traveled a little further than we actually did. Staying in a hotel in your own city allows you to experience your city in a whole new way! But you don’t have to stay in a hotel to have a staycation. Just take a day, or a weekend, and actually go do all of those fun activities you always say you’re going to do but never actually do.
