Freeman’s

Freeman's

Hey y’all! Hope you had a great weekend! We had a fun Saturday. The weather was gorgeous, and we mostly just hung out in our neighborhood, and took a little stroll through the park. Sunday was pretty rainy, but that didn’t stop us from heading downtown to brunch with friends. We went to a place we’ve been dying to go to for awhile, but for some reason or another, we had just never made it happen. We loved it so much, we had to tell you all about it today! Freeman’s is a cool little spot in the Lower East Side that is tucked away at the end of an alley. You almost have to know it exists to be able to find it. You’ve probably seen the photo above scrolling through your Instagram feed or on Pinterest. There is some cool graffiti lining the alleyway which lends to some pretty cool photo ops.

We expected Freeman’s to be tiny, just like most restaurants in Manhattan, but to our pleasant surprise it’s actually quite spacious. The restaurant feels more like a townhouse (probably because that’s what it was at one point) with lots of different rooms, each decorated with rustic cozy decor. Our table sat by the cutest little reading nook.

The food was excellent! They serve simple, rustic, American cuisine. I ordered the egg white omelet which was very tasty, and Shelby ordered the scrambled eggs which were served with bacon and potatoes. We also got a side of cheddar grits, and after the recommendation by our waiter, the homemade biscuits with honey butter.

Everyone in our group ordered something different, and we were all individually pleased with our choices. We tend to mostly eat out for brunch, but I’d love to return for dinner sometime soon.

If you are looking for a cozy spot to hole up for an afternoon, avoiding the rain outside, with some good food, then Freeman’s definitely needs to be added to your to do list.
