Exploring The Things In Your Own Backyard
We recently did another staycation in NYC, this time in a neighborhood we get asked about all the time- Times Square! We have been honest about the fact that we don’t love spending time in Times Square, but we understand that it is a great central location to stay when you’re visiting NYC. So we booked a night at The Knickerbocker Hotel, packed our overnight bags, and headed to midtown. The hotel really couldn’t be in a better location. It’s right on the corner of Broadway and 42nd Street right off of Times Square. You’re within walking distance to a lot of the main tourist attractions in NYC.

We prefer staying at boutique hotels over the major chains whenever possible. Our room was spacious for New York standards and I personally loved all of the mirrors. Hotel rooms always need more mirrors! The hotel itself is fairly new to the neighborhood, re-opening in February 2015 after being closed for almost a century! You can read more about the history here if you’re interested.

We booked last minute tickets for the show that night and were so excited to finally see it! If you’re a fan of the movie, you’ll love the show. We talked a lot about the show and how to get last minute Broadway show tickets in our vlog below so be sure to give that a watch if you want to know more.

It was a pretty perfect morning! We checked out of the hotel, stored our bags for a couple of hours, and walked over to Bibble and Sip for a coffee and a cute little treat. All of their desserts were so cute! Then we popped into Old Navy and did a little shopping before heading back home. We ended up with a lot of cute things and filmed a haul video of what we got if you want to see!
We’re really enjoying these little NYC staycations! Where do you want to see us stay next?
