Plain Jane But Never Boring
I just recently switched over my closet from winter to summer (thanks NYC for your tiny closets), and I realized that my clothes are all pretty plain. It was kind of liberating actually, and I was totally okay it!
I think a big reason why I don’t love spring/summer fashion is because it is usually full of bright colors and patterns. To be honest that is so not me at all. Every once in awhile I like that, but the majority of the time I feel weird dressing that way. I love wearing black, white, grey, and no patterns or a simple stripe. I know what you’re thinking….”That is so Plain & Boring”! Well, I’m here to tell you that those plain clothes do not need to be boring at all.

Confidence is key with whatever you are wearing. If you are confident in those plain colors then go for it! The great thing about this weather is that you can layer. I took this plain grey dress and added the denim jacket to give dimension and a slightly different color.
My shoes are comfortable and perfect for exploring all day in the city. Yes they are “plain”, but they seriously go with everything!

Even though the jewelry that I like is still on the plain side, you can add so many pieces to change it up. I love layering simple earrings to create a little ear party! I will always pick gold jewelry over silver, but that is just my preference. My necklace is a new addition to my collection and I love it so much!
Is your wardrobe full of bright fun clothes, or do you lean more towards the plain side like me? How do you “dress up” your plain clothes to feel less boring? Let me know down below!
