Exploring The Pacific NorthWest
Our second stop on our trip through the Pacific Northwest was Portland, Oregon. We drove down south from Seattle which took way longer than we had expected it to. There was a ton of traffic, but we eventually made it in one piece. We stayed at The Heathman Hotel which I highly recommend. They just did a full renovation, and it is at a great central location. We are going to do a separate post on all of the places we ate, so stay tuned for that next week.

We only had about a day and a half to explore Portland, so we hit the ground running. Our first big stop was Powell’s City of Books. I had heard about this place before, but you don’t really understand how big it is until you see it in person. It is literally a city. Each room has a name, a color, that is assigned to it. We all kept getting lost from each other so I had to keep calling Ashley and asking her what color room she was in. There could definitely be an epic game of hide and seek in there that’s for sure.

To be honest, most of what we did in Portland revolved around food, so I think you will get a lot more insight on the city from that post. We pretty much spent the rest of the day walking around the entire downtown area window shopping, snacking, and drinking coffee. It was a perfect lowkey day, which is kind of what we have transitioned our trips into recently.

The next day we checked out of the hotel and drove out into nature. Our destination was Multnomah Falls, which we did end up at, but we stopped along the way at a lookout point that was absolutely breathtaking! We love when our trips end up in both the city and nature.
