If you know us at all, you know we are not fans of pumpkin carving. Ashley had a horrible incident in elementary school which led to her being sick and I’ve always had a squeamish stomach. If pumpkin comes in latte form we are down. In carving form, not so much. We wanted to come up with some fun ways that you can still get in the festive spirit without the horrible stinky mess.
I started off with a small orange sugar pumpkin. I took a sponge brush and black paint and covered the entire thing. Then using a hot glue gun I attached google eyes all over. It’s that simple. I love looking at it. It’s the perfect Halloween pumpkin.
This one was the easiest to make. All you need is a white pumpkin (try to get one without spots), a round sponge brush, and gold paint. This took two coats to get to the thickness of color I wanted.
We’ve never seen this one done before, and we thought it would be fun to try. We picked up some fake leaves from Michael’s and used a hot glue gun to attach. It turned out really well and can definitely last you through Thanksgiving with it’s Autumn vibe.
We had such a fun time decorating these. What are your favorite ways to decorate your pumpkins? Let us know in the comments below.
