I have three go to places when shopping for clothes- Madewell, Nordstrom, and Old Navy. In case you were not aware, Madewell is also sold at Nordstrom. So sometimes if something I want is sold out at one place I always check the other and I can typically find it. Nine times out of ten when you see an outfit on me it is comprised of elements from those three places. I need a little spring/wardrobe refresh over the past month or so to fill some holes in my wardrobe and to add a few fun pieces that get me excited for the change in seasons. And of course it’s been uncharacteristically cold in NYC most of May so I haven’t gotten a lot of wear of these items yet (or they are just layered under jackets) so I was excited to give some of these pieces a spin during our recent trip to England! More on that soon. But first, here are some of my recent fashion finds.
Dresses
Dresses are my go to piece when the temperatures rise. I’ve found so many cute ones lately! I love the print and midi length of this one and the mustard yellow color of this one. This dress is also super cute and from Old Navy of all places. It looks more like something you would find at Madewell. It’s been sold out online but I’ve seen it come back in stock and sell out again multiple times so keep your eyes peeled (or check in store) if you want to grab one for yourself. I also love this striped dress from Madewell (it has pockets!) but it does run small in the chest. I ordered my usual size but had to exchange it and go one size up. This jersey swing dress is super comfy and I love the elbow length sleeve.
T-Shirts
If I’m not wearing a dress during the warmer months then you’ll likely find me in some sort of cropped jean and t-shirt combo, probably with Birkenstocks. I recently bought a lot of tees at Old Navy because they are cute and trendy but inexpensive. From this striped tee, to this ruffled sleeve one, to these cute graphic tees there were so many I loved! I also grabbed this rainbow striped tee from Madewell and this super comfy oversized grey tee with the tie detail at the waist from Nordstrom.
Jeans
Old Navy has kind of been killing it in the denim department lately. I love Madewell’s denim too, but this season Old Navy put out similar silhouettes to the styles I’ve had my eye on at Madewell, but for like half the price. Madewell denim is great, but if you’re on a budget I suggest you check out Old Navy. Just a word of warning though, these Old Navy styles run small and I’ve had to size up one or two sizes in these. This pair is one of the comfiest pairs of jeans I’ve ever owned, and I’m super pumped about these wide leg ones I just picked up.
Accessories
I was looking for a new crossbody bag to bring to Europe and fell in love with this one from Madewell. It’s the perfect size for all my essentials. I’ve also been a bit obsessed with bandanas lately. They are the perfect thing to elevate a plain t-shirt and jeans look. I have this one from Madewell and this one from Old Navy. I also picked up these Birkenstock sandals from Nordstrom. I mostly grabbed them to wear back and forth to yoga class but they are water friendly so perfect for the pool or beach, and the price point can’t be beat.
Whew. I officially need to stop shopping for awhile. What are some of your recent fashion finds? Where are your go to places to shop? We’d love to know!
