One of my favorite holiday traditions is making sausage balls with my dad. My mom’s entire family is Czech, and my dad’s side has a little bit of German so sausage has been a big part of our family my entire life. These little balls of joy are easy to make and equally tasty. They go pretty quick when we set them out on Christmas day, so you have to eat fast if you want to enjoy them.
You just need 3 simple ingredients and a strong pair of hands to make these.
You will need:
1 lb owens sausage
3 cups bisquick
10 oz shredded cheese
Just throw everything into a large mixing bowl, and use your hands to combine all of the ingredients. This is always my dads job. I can’t get that holiday manicure dirty can I!? I mix with my eyes, telling him when it looks just right.
After it is all mixed roll into 1 inch balls and bake for 15 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit. You want them to come out a nice shade of golden brown. My mouth is watering just looking at them. I need to go downstairs and grab some for a snack.
You guys, these are seriously so easy. If you need to whip up a quick appetizer or a side for your holiday party these are the perfect answer. Before Ashley became a vegetarian she loved them.
Let us know if you try them out. We would love to hear what you think. We hope you aren’t stressing out too much right now. We can’t believe it is already December 23rd. Luckily Ashley and I have both bought and wrapped all of our presents, so we are just relaxing and enjoying the festive season now. It’s almost Christmas, and we can’t wait! Make sure you are tagging us on Instagram and Twitter as well as using our hashtag #ATBChristmas so we can see everything you are getting up to.
