Thanksgiving 2020

How We Celebrated

Thanksgiving 2020

Thanksgiving 2020 is definitely a different year. Because we are still in a global pandemic, we chose to do the right thing and stay put in New York. If y’all have been here for awhile you would know that we usually go visit all of our extended family in Waco, Texas. We didn’t want to risk spreading the virus, so we stayed here and had an awesome little celebration just the three of us.

It has always been our tradition to watch the parade. We would wake up early and sit on the couch with our grandpa and watch. That is such a fond memory that I have, and even though the parade was different this year we had to watch. Fun fact, Ash and I actually went to the parade back in 2013. We stayed in NYC for Thanksgiving that year and it was actually so fun.

This year we created a full vegan & gluten free feast. The first Thanksgiving that we have ever been able to actually eat everything. That was really fun! I also made my first pumpkin pie ever! I was pleasantly surprised with myself! I recreated my mom’s mac & cheese recipe. We had sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts, carrots, mashed potatoes, cauliflower, cornbread muffins, beyond meatballs, and of course cranberry salsa! We were stuffed, and it was totally worth all of the stress cooking!

After lunch we took Poppy to Central Park for a walk. It was such a fun time. Poppy thrives in the park! Many people had the same idea as us! It’s been a tradition in our family for a long time to watch a Christmas movie on Thanksgiving night. The Santa Clause is one of our all time favorites, so of course we had to watch that. We had dreams of a hot cocoa bar to have that night but we were all too full so we settled on tea instead.

Overall it was such a fun day! Don’t forget that you can watch our vlog from the day below. P.S. Vlogmas is coming December 1st!
