Our Thanksgiving Holiday In A Nutshell
Happy Friday!
Whew, it has been a whirlwind couple of weeks for us! And to top it off, we got home to New York to find out that a pipe had burst on the floor above us in our building, leaving lots of water damage in our bathroom and in Shelbs’ bedroom. So that was fun.
We spent the past couple of weeks in Texas, and we wanted to share what we got up to with y’all today!
One of our best friends got married the weekend before Thanksgiving so we flew in early for the ceremony. It was beautiful and we are so happy for the newlyweds!
The next morning our Dad made us brunch, complete with green eggs and ham, ha ha. Oh, Dads 🙂

I made this crockpot butternut squash mac and cheese, but I substituted a couple of ingredients to make it vegan, and it was a huge hit!

On Thanksgiving we traveled to Waco to spend the day with our extended family. It’s tradition for all of the girls to go out and do a little Black Friday shopping. There were lots of good deals this year! We also made sure to pop by Magnolia Market for some campfire cupcakes from Silos Baking Co which are AMAZING.

Their craft whiskey and bourbon is really good (we love the Brimstone!) and it’s so cool that it’s all made in this little distillery in downtown Waco. We’ve toured whiskey distilleries in Scotland, so it was interesting to compare the two.

Back in Dallas last weekend, we surprised our Mom with a relaxed picnic in the park. It was nice to just get outside, enjoy the nice weather, and decompress a little from the busy Thanksgiving holiday.
