Doing It For The Gram
One of my favorite things to do in NYC is to walk around, get lost, and stumble on some amazing places to take pictures. Truly though, I don’t think you can take a bad picture with New York as your backdrop. That is something that makes New York so unique. Here is a list of all of our favorites, but if you feel inspired anywhere to get that picture for the gram go for it!
If you aren’t following us on Instagram yet….why not!? That’s okay! Just head on over and follow us here!
Milk & Cream Cereal Bar
159 Mott Street, New York, NY 10013
This first one isn’t just a backdrop! If you fancy some ice cream creations mixed with cereal you are in luck. Pretty much the entire store is Instagramable, so take your pick! I loved the storefront though, so I opted to step outside. The mint green is just beautiful!
Brooklyn Bridge Park
334 Furman St, New York, NY 11201
If you are spending a Saturday in Smorgasburg, don’t miss out on the amazing backdrop that Brooklyn Bridge Park gives you. Whop out portrait mode on your iphone and you have yourself a fantastic picture! You won’t be alone either. Many people will be taking pics so don’t be afraid to strike a pose!
Sezane Apartment
254 Elizabeth Street, New York, NY 10012
I honestly don’t know if this will stay like this forever, but for now the flower backdrop at the Sezane apartment is to die for. Stand, take a seat, or run around! Your picture will turn out awesome, and will definitely turn some heads on Instagram!

175 5th Avenue, New York, NY 10010
This is a great area because you can take pictures with both buildings. Turn your back north to get the Empire State Building in the background, and then turn the other way to get the Flatiron Building. Make sure your photographer bends down and shoots up to get the entire Flatiron Building in your shot!
Little Cupcake Bakeshop
30 Prince Street, New York, NY 10012
Not only can you stop in and get some yummy little treats, but you can take a picture by the iconic heart wall! There will be lots of people here trying to take photos, so you might have to wait a little bit. Pro tip- try and coordinate with the wall for optimal photos!
[one_half padding=”0 3px 0 0px”][/one_half][one_half_last padding=”0 0px 0 3px”][/one_half_last]Murals in Nolita
There are so many murals in Nolita, and they are constantly changing. The Ren & Stimpy one is unfortunately gone, but we stumbled upon this Mickey Mouse one and a very feminist inspired wall! Just walk around Nolita and you are guaranteed to find some amazing places to shoot!
[one_half padding=”0 3px 0 0px”][/one_half][one_half_last padding=”0 0px 0 3px”][/one_half_last]Central Park
I can’t even tell you how many amazing spots there are in Central Park to take pics. So so many, but this last time we opted for a simple backdrop and some rocks. Head over to the Boathouse and the Bethesda Fountain for some other great options. P.S. How beautiful is our cousin!?
My biggest tip for finding the perfect Instagram spot is to just look up and pay attention. You can honestly make any spot a good Instagram! Just be confident and take photos that you like!
