The Whitney Museum

The Whitney

Hey y’all!

So I’ve been in Dallas this week (yes, again) for work but I head back to the city this evening. We weren’t kidding when we said 2016 would be the year of travel. Speaking of, did you hear we booked a trip to Iceland?! We’re going in April and are SO excited. If you’ve been, and have any tips, please share!

While we have lots of travel plans outside the city this year, we also have lots of things on our New York to do list we want to check off. This past Friday, we did just that. Seeking a little art and culture, we spent the evening wondering around The Whitney. We hadn’t visited the new location since it opened last year. The Whitney houses a rotating collection of contemporary and modern art featuring living artists from the United States. I’ll be honest, I don’t always “get” modern art, but I do enjoy seeing what people come up with. If anything, modern art lends itself to some interesting photos, which we had a little to much fun taking 🙂

I went to the Whitney last May when it had just opened. I’m usually not a very big fan of museums but I actually enjoyed this one. I like pop art and interesting pieces included in their collection. I looooved the view from the 4th floor, both looking out on the water and looking onto the city.

Yes, I like interesting pieces as well. And love that the collections rotate so every time you go you can see something different! -Ash
