As you guys know, we recently returned from a trip to England, and I wanted to share what make up products I took with me on the trip. On the average day I’m not a big make up girl. I prefer to go bare faced, and only tend to wear makeup when I’m going out or when traveling. I always pack the bare minimum of make up products when traveling. Enough products to make me feel a little pulled together, but only the essentials. My little travel make up capsule collection if you will. I want to spend my days while traveling off on adventures, not getting ready for hours in my hotel room. When packing I grab the products that are my trusty go to’s. Travel is not the time for experimentation. I want a natural make up look that will hold up all day, take me from day to night, and look good with all my outfits. The five products I brought with me to England, and again on our trip to Dallas this past weekend, can basically all fit in one hand.
[one_half padding=”0 3px 0 0″][/one_half][one_half_last padding=”0 0 0 3px”][/one_half_last]I recently purchased this Bare Minerals foundation stick and I’m obsessed. It’s pretty fool-proof. I swipe it on my cheeks, chin, forehead, and down the bridge of my nose and then use this brush to blend it in. It’s an easy, no mess application that takes literally one minute and gives my skin a nice dewy, healthy glow.
This eye shadow palette from Urban Decay, smartly named “The Basics” is exactly what it sounds like. Six neutral shades of eye shadow that you can use in a variety of combinations depending on if you’re going for a barely there look or more of a smokey evening look.
Nobody does the minimal make up look better than Glossier. They have a lot of great products, but the ones I use every day are the Boy Brow in blonde and the Lash Slick mascara. If you want to try Glossier you can click here to shop with us and receive 10% off your purchase and get free shipping!
I don’t always wear eyeliner, but if I do it’s this eyeko skinny liquid eyeliner. It’s easy to apply with just a few swipes, and you can do a super skinny line with just the tip of the pen, or hold it at an angle and get a thicker line.
Not pictured here, but I brought 3 lip products with me that I alternated between- this coconut lip gloss for a sheer look, this YSL lipstick (that feels more like a lip oil) in the shade 04 rouge ballet that gives a sheer hint of color, and this Nars velvet lip glide in the shade bound that is more pigmented, but way less fussy than a long-wear lipstick.
Do you already hav a travel make up capsule collection? What must have items are in yours? If this something you would consider implementing on future trips?
