A Perfect Recharge In The Sun
Woohoo we made it to Friday! While I love traveling, the week after a trip is always a tiring one, recovering from all the travel and getting back in the swing of things. You guys know by now that we spent last weekend in Southern California. We started in Palm Springs, and then spent the last couple of days of the long weekend in Los Angeles.
We mainly flew to the west coast for Create and Cultivate. You may remember that we attended in NYC last year, and we REALLY wanted to go to the one in Seattle last fall, but my brain surgery kind of detoured that. So while Create and Cultivate was a big part of our time in Los Angeles, we did manage to squeeze in a few other things.
We got into LA Friday evening from Palm Springs, and immediately headed to dinner at Cafe Gratitude. We ate there for the first time last time we were in LA, and it was so good we knew we had to add it to this trip as well! Everything on the menu is vegan, and there are so many unique options I always have a hard time deciding what to order. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower to share to start. I got the raw pad thai with kelp noodles and Shelby ordered the soul bowl. The cool thing about Cafe Gratitude is your waiter gives you a question of the day to discuss amongst your table. The question on this day was “what are you grateful for?”. Shelby and I both had the same answer- right now we are both so thankful that we are able to travel and see the world!
On Saturday we were at Create and Cultivate all day! We got to see some great panels from leading industry experts including our new bestie Julia from Gal Meets Glam! We met up with her again this week in NYC, as you may have seen on our, and also her, instagram story! There were some awesome keynotes at Create and Cultivate including Lauren Conrad, Chrissy Teigen, and Kim Kardashian West. No body puts on an event like Create and Cultivate. The attention to detail is insane. It’s always such a good time! If you ever get the chance to go, do it! It’s not just for bloggers either. We met several people who were just there for some life inspiration. The day was full of female empowerment! We didn’t take a lot of photos, but there are some clips from the day in our travel vlog, and we added a story highlight for Create and Cultivate over on our Instagram profile.

They have a color burst latte on their menu that tastes as good as it looks! I ordered the eggs benedict with avocado which was divine and Shelby got the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. Highly recommend this spot!

After brunch we had a few hours before we had to head to the airport, so we went to the beach! The original intention was to go to Malibu, but we couldn’t find parking when we got up there, so we turned around and went back to Santa Monica. We ended up spending a couple of hours sitting on the beach in the sunshine, watching the waves, and just chatting. It was a lovely end to a jam packed trip!
