Happy Monday y’all! We are currently toes deep in the sand in the Bahamas, but I thought I would share with y’all a quick update on my trip to Pittsburgh last weekend. One of my best friends and her husband just moved to Pittsburgh a few months ago, so we all jumped in the car and headed on a road trip from NYC to the Burgh! It also happened to be Allix’s birthday, so we were in for a fun weekend full of celebrations!

Once we were all cleaned up and ready to go, we headed over to the strip district to explore. It’s definitely not what it sounds like! hahaha! All of the artwork on the buildings, and the bridges were so cool to see. We loved walking around and taking it all in. I also learned that heinz ketchup is made in Pittsburgh! Who knew?

For dinner we headed over to Downtown Pittsburgh and found a place called Pork and Beans. Coming from Texas, I am very particular about my BBQ. This place didn’t disappoint. We ordered family style with several meats and sides. We particularly loved the brisket, kale salad, and mac & cheese.

The next morning, for Allix’s birthday we went for brunch at Smoke. The aesthetic of this place was so fun. I ordered the chorizo gravy to eat, and my oh my was it awesome!

We then headed up the duquesne incline to get a bird’s eye view of the city. We even got to see the Steelers stadium.

Next up was the Andy Warhol Museum to get our art fix. I have seen a lot of Warhol’s work from living in New York, but I loved getting to see an entire museum dedicated to him.

Our last stop was The Commoner, for dinner. I had the greatest cocktail I have ever had here. My mouth is watering thinking about it right now. It was called Peanut Bourbon & Jelly. Besides the bourbon, and homemade peanut brittle, I have no idea what was in it. It was genuinely so good though.

We all ordered some hummus to share, and for my meal I ordered Tikka Masala with chicken. It was all fantastic. If you ever find yourself in Pittsburgh you should plan a dinner here.
