Guuuuuuyys! We leave for Iceland TONIGHT! After months of planning and waiting, the day is finally here. We are so excited! And apparently, we may even run into a Kardashion or two. We’ll be sharing photos and videos on Instagram and Snapchat over the next four days, so be sure you are following us to see what we get up to. We’ll share more details about exactly what we get up to in Iceland in the coming weeks, but before we go, I wanted to share what items I’m packing in my suitcase.
I’ve been keeping a close eye on the weather in Reykjavik for a few weeks now. My main takeaway is that it changes. A lot. It seems pretty common for it to go from snowing to raining to sunny on a daily basis. Since it’s really cold in Iceland, and most of our plans involve spending lots of time outside, I am filling my suitcase with lots of warm, cozy, and comfy layers. Here’s what’s in my suitcase for 4 days in Iceland.
Grey Madewell Sweater (old- similar) | White H&M Sweater (old- similar)
I’m bringing cozy sweaters in neutral shades to layer with.
Old Navy Leggings (old- similar here and here)
We have lots of hiking and exploring on our itinerary and these Old Navy activewear leggings are nice and thick but still comfy enough to allow movement.
Uniqlo Heat Tech T-Shirt | Uniqlo Heat Tech Leggings
These items will be my base layers. Uniqlo’s Heat Tech products are amazing and the perfect thing to help keep me warm while hiking on a glacier!
Black Top | Black Bottoms | Blue Top | Blue Bottoms | Flip Flops
It may seem counter intuitive to pack a swimsuit when traveling to Iceland, but there are many warm mineral baths, most famously, the Blue Lagoon, which we will be taking a dip in.
Scarves (all old- similar here, here, here, and here) | Hats: black and cream (old- similar), black, green
Since 90% of our time in Iceland will be spent outdoors, cute but warm scarves and hats are a must for accessorizing.
Uniqlo Heat Tech Socks | Cashmere Fleece Lined Socks
Sorel Snow Boots | Nike Sneakers (old- similar)
I didn’t get much use out of my new Sorel snow boots in NYC this past winter since it barely snowed. But they will definitely come in handy to keep my feet nice and toasty in Iceland. Since this is a more adventurous kind of trip, and we will be doing a lot of walking and exploring, I’m only bringing my snow boots and sneakers.
Uniqlo Ultra Light Down Jacket
Not pictured is my giant North Face parka, that is basically a walking sleeping bag, which I will be wearing daily to stay warm. However, I’m also throwing my Uniqlo ultra light down jacket into my suitcase since it folds down into a little pouch, and will be perfect for an extra base layer under my North Face jacket if it gets really cold.
Obviously there are items like pajamas, undergarments, and toiletries not listed here that I will be bringing as well. If I find that an item I packed wasn’t necessary, or there was something I didn’t bring that I wish I would have, I’ll do an update when we get back and let you know.
Now pray for us. We are flying overnight tonight and hit the ground running tomorrow morning with a full day of activities. Hopefully jet lag doesn’t hit us too hard.
