Rocking Around The Christmas Tree

Last weekend, Shelby and I headed to midtown to visit some of our favorite holiday destinations in the city. With it being the first weekend of the holiday season, we feared crowds would be high, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn’t too bad yet. Our first stop was the Columbus Circle holiday market. This is similar to the one at Bryant Park, but still fun to hit if you’re in the area.

We stopped at two separate chocolate booths for samples, ha ha. Priorities.

Of course we had to make our annual visit to the Breezy Hill Orchard booth for the world’s best gingerbread cookies. We may have gotten another one the following day at Bryant Park….oops.

These cookies are THE BEST. And they are HUGE. I was so excited to eat it I took a bite of his head before Shelby had a chance to snap a photo.

After Columbus Circle, we walked through the park over to 5th Ave to check out some of the department store holiday windows. Bergdorf’s are always my favorite, and they definitely did not disappoint this year. If you can’t make it to New York this year to check out the holiday windows for yourself, you can take a virtual tour here

This vertical maze was so cool!

The giant snowflake hanging over the middle of 5th Ave and 57th St is a New York staple.

The windows at Tiffany’s are always so tiny and intricate. You can’t really tell the scale in the above photo, but this tablescape (with various diamond jewelry sitting on each place setting) is the perfect size for dolls.

After a little more window shopping (and some actual shopping) we made it down to Rockefeller Center to say hi to the tree. This year’s is the tallest one they’ve ever had!

We paused to take the requisite holiday photo with the tree…

…and waved to the Rockettes as we passed by Radio City before heading home to snuggle up with some hot chocolate and a Christmas movie

Check out the video below for footage we shot doing all of the above as well as some of our other favorite things to do in NYC during the holidays
