What’s A Girls Weekend Without Cookie Dō
We had our amazing friend Kristen in town over the weekend and one of the main things she wanted to do was to take a baking class at Cookie Dō. It just so happened that while she was here they were offering a cookie dough/cookie bomb class. We booked our tickets a few months ago and had been eagerly awaiting to make some delicious cookie dough.
To our surprise, the class was taught by the founder of Cookie Dō herself Kristen Tomlan. She was so sweet, and it was really cool to hear about how she started the business, and her passion behind the cookie dough. If you don’t know, Cookie Dō is raw cookie dough that is safe to eat. We did learn that there are eggs and of course flour in her dough, but they have both been pasteurized so you can eat them raw. This way, you can eat the dough as is, or you can still bake it into cookies.

Let me tell you, they are awesome! They provided already made dough for these, because we would be making the dough from scratch for our cookie dough later. We each made four bombs by scooping them out and forming them into “bowls” adding sprinkles or nutella and rolling them back into bowls and then putting them in a cupcake pan. Easy enough right? They baked in the oven while we were preparing our cookie dough. Once they were out it was time to decorate. They provided us with a cookie dough buttercream for the bombs, and then we put little balls of cookie dough on time. Let’s just say Kristen’s look much better than ours!

I was so beyond excited to make this, and i’m a little ashamed to say that I don’t have much of it left! Oops! Kristen took us through each step very carefully to create the perfect cookie dough! Once the dough was made we were each able to add our own mix ins to our dough. I went a little crazy and basically added everything! Chocolate chips, sprinkles, reeses pieces, oreos! Let me just tell you I have been on a sugar high since this class. Kristen then taught us her technique to getting the dough from our bowl into the little cartons. It’s an art form that’s for sure!

I highly recommend the Smore’s and the Dunkadoo! It’s a good thing we don’t live near the shop, because I would be there all the time!

If you want to see us make our dough make sure you check out our vlog from the weekend!
